Gina Pereira
Philanthropic Fiduciary Director
Gina Pereira is a dynamic lawyer and trusted advisor with nearly twenty years of experience servicing private clients and closely held corporations worldwide. She has a sophisticated international background and experience in law, wealth management, and philanthropy. Gina’s vision is a world where responsible stewardship of wealth permeates the way we invest, give back, do business, and consume.

In 2010, Gina founded Dana Philanthropy, a consultancy celebrated for its excellence as the recipient of the esteemed STEP Private Client Award for Philanthropy Team of the Year, 2018/2019. Dana Philanthropy was formed to offer bespoke strategic philanthropy, mission-aligned investing and impact investing services to an international clientele.

Gina is a global citizen. A native of Bermuda, she has lived in Canada, Portugal, Switzerland, New York, The Bahamas, Los Angeles and returned to Bermuda, joining Meritus in March 2021. Her international experience servicing a global clientele has made Gina highly adaptable in different environments and sensitive to cultural nuances.

A well-recognized thought leader in her field, Gina is a contributing author to the “Family Offices” handbook for advisors published by Globe Law & Business (2015) and frequently writes articles for professional journals. She is a popular speaker and panelist on philanthropic trends and stewardship principles at international professional conferences.

An advocate of the charities sector, Gina raised the awareness of the potential for human rights abuses stemming from the OECD’s Common Reporting Standardregime and lobbied successfully for the adoption of risk mitigation measures by the Bermuda government.

Committed to the advancement of professional best practices, Gina was a judge for the 2020 STEP Private Client Awards. She served STEP and its 20,000+ members as an elected Co-Chair of the Steering Committee for the Philanthropy Advisors Special Interest Group and is an invited member of the Responsible Stewardship of Wealth Committee.

Admitted to the Law Society of Ontario's bar in 2002, Gina obtained the Trust & Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation from STEP in 2005. She earned certificates in grantmaking from NYU Academy for Grantmaking and Funder Education, impact investing from the IIX Impact Institute, and sustainable and responsible investment from US SIF.

Gina gives back to the community as a volunteer board member and advisor to charities and social enterprises. She is committed to supporting incarcerated and paroled individuals, enhancing opportunities for successful reintegration into society.
